General information - Fly Line is a bimonthly magazine designed for the fly fisherman. It is a prestige product that values quality and culture over commercial formulas. It has been sold via postal subscription and in fly fishing shops for 24 years, since 1986 to be exact. Fly Line is characterized by a high level of in-depth analysis, excellent photographs and a simple, refined layout. It offers a new combination of two subjects: fly fishing and hydrobiology. One to know the techniques and one to penetrate the secrets of the river – two inseparable contexts. Essential facts, not only to benefit from them as a fisherman, but also to spread awareness of what is good or bad for the environment. Fly Line is designed as an encyclopedia in installments that has replaced repetition with depth. It is a far cry from ordinary magazines with their repeating seasonal topics. It has proven to be a good approach: it's the only solid reference point for fly fishing in the fragmented Italian publishing market. The purpose - The ethical aim of Fly Line is to protect rivers from pollution and to increase use and enjoyment of them. Rather than by using ecological information, we prefer to do it through the popularization of fly fishing. This is actually perfect for helping us protect the environment: fly fishing requires natural rivers with high-quality waters and users who are aware of the laws of nature and her ecosystems. Things are more successful if they're stimulated by passion. Collecting - Since Fly Line is structured as an encyclopedia in installments, it is designed for collecting and preservation. To this end it is printed on high quality glossy paper and stapled to allow binding. Thanks to the cardboard covers that we provide on request, the annual installments can be turned into sturdy volumes. The covers or binders are currently sold for 7.00 euros each. Our readers are always requesting back issues. In conclusion - We are very proud of our publication. We consider it a good compromise between the technical and the practical, moral objectives and, of course, the needs of the market. Our efforts are aimed at accurate information, image quality, and the needs of rivers and fishermen. It may be possible to do better, but if there is a way to improve, we will succeed. |
